Investigation opens after police shooting near Independence apartments

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – Community members are urged to avoid the area near an apartment complex in Independence after law enforcement officers were involved in a shooting.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 7 around 3 p.m Independence Police Department asked the community to avoid the area of Larkspur and M 291 Frontage Rd. as the shooting investigation continues.

Department leaders noted that law enforcement officers were involved in the shooting. The police investigation team involved was sent in response.

KCTV5 News crews on scene observed police turning vehicles away from the Oval Spring Apartments. Residents are forced to enter the complex.
