Driver dies after running off road and crashing into tree in Chesapeake: CPD

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A driver was killed Thursday morning in Chesapeake after he left the road and struck a tree, according to Chesapeake police.

When officers arrived at the intersection of Bruce Road and Peppercorn Drive, they observed that the driver, an adult male, “swerved off the road and struck a tree.”

Police say the cause of the accident is unknown and there are no indications of foul play. The accident is still under investigation.
