Newly elected NC Governor Josh Stein announces leadership of the transition team

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) – Newly elected North Carolina Governor John Stein announced his leadership of the transition team on Thursday.

One of the names is Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer. Manheimer has been in office since 2013 and was proud to serve on the city council from 2009 to 2013.

The governor-elect also announced five others on his team:

  • Seth Dearmin who has served as chief of staff of the North Carolina Department of Justice for the past eight years.
  • Kristi Jones who is the vice president for public affairs and sustainability at NiSource, a leading natural gas and electric utility.
  • Richard Stevens is an attorney at the Smith Anderson law firm in Raleigh and served as a senator in the North Carolina General Assembly from 2003 to 2012.
  • Malcomb Coley is the US Central Private Leader for EY.
  • Christie McNeill is a native of Guilford County and most recently served as a partner at McKinsey and Company, where she advised clients with a focus on financial services and energy transition.

“I am honored that these talented people have agreed to lead our transition team,” Governor-elect Josh Stein said in a news release. “We have an opportunity to make a real difference in North Carolina, and I look forward to working closely with them to hire hard-working, public-spirited people who will move our state forward.”
