Walker was found unconscious in his bed in Giles Hall on Monday after his teammates said he had felt ill in the days leading up to his death, university officials said.

Walker’s mother said authorities have found no evidence of foul play, but her son’s death remains under investigation.

“The exact cause is natural, it was sepsis. So we know for sure, but they’re doing additional toxicology testing to make sure there wasn’t anything else going on. But it wasn’t foul play WGRZ the family quoted.

The 18-year-old’s cause of death is pending a toxicology report with the Cambria County coroner and state police handling the investigation.

Walker was in his freshman year at Saint Francis after graduating from Canisius High School in Buffalo.

The university canceled classes Tuesday and the campus ministry is accepting sympathy cards for Walker’s family.
