STATE LAW

The results are not official, but it appears Democrats will retain their supermajorities in the Senate and State Assembly. Democrats have held a significant majority in the Capitol for more than two decades, but no party had won a supermajority of seats in eighty years until Democrats did so in 2012. They have maintained that majority ever since.

Republicans may have gained seats in the Senate and Assembly, but Democrats still hold supermajorities in both.
