Haryana government suspends Hansi SDM over sexual abuse allegations

The Haryana government has suspended the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Hansi after a Class 4 employee accused the Haryana Civil Services (HCS) official of sexual assault and caste abuse.

Interacting with the media, the complainant, who works in the public health department, alleged that the HCS officer has been sexually abusing him for the past four years.

The complainant said he has written to the chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), Human Rights Commission, Haryana CM window, Haryana DGP and IG Hisar about the attack.

Complainant said the HCS officer paid him ₹200 per day for massage services while stationed in Fatehabad in 2020.

“Six months ago he called me for massage services and demanded sexual favors. When I refused, he attacked me at gunpoint and threatened to have me fired as well,” the victim said.

A video of the alleged assault has been making the rounds on social media, although HT could not independently verify its veracity.

The complainant also said that some senior officials are forcing him to withdraw the complaint.

The HCS official in question could not be reached for comment despite repeated phone calls and text messages.

Meanwhile, Rajesh Khoth, the Hisar estate officer of Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran, has been given charge of Hansi SDM, in addition to his current duties.
