Emily's first warning forecast: Cloudy Friday with a chance of rain

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – After a sunny Thursday, the clouds are back! We will remain cool on Friday with quite a bit of cloud cover. Periods of sunshine are expected in the morning, but will be scarce by the afternoon. Clouds will remain cool with highs in the 50s.

Our next system will be SW only on Friday with most staying dry until 10pm. Our next chance of rain comes on Friday evening. This will start as spotty showers, with rain spreading overnight. The morning, especially Saturday between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., brings a chance of a storm.

The chance of storms decreases for the rest of the day with persistent showers. This could bring further improvements to the drought monitor, which is starting to show signs of improvement. Rain totals between 0.1″ and 0.75″ are expected, with more than 0.25″ most likely.

Sunday will bring clear skies and a warm-up into the upper 50s. Mid 60s are expected Monday and Tuesday, ahead of our next round of cold air.
