Amad stole the headlines but the 12-match winning Man Utd teammate had his best performance in a PAOK

Manchester United defeated PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday evening, ending a three-match draw in the competition.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy continued his undefeated run as head coach Manchester United with a second win in three games – building on it the 1-1 draw against Chelsea.

A 2-0 win at Old Trafford over Greek champions PAOK was enough to drag United back to the qualifying stages of the knockout stages.

Both goals were scored by Amad Diallowith his second in particular being a special goal sent a real message to Ruben Amorim.

However, he wasn’t the only player to make a statement in the match.

Victor Lindelof puts in his best performance in a year

So while Amad was by far the best player on the field and Casemiro was also singled out on MUTV for his performance, Victor Lindelof deserves much praise.

The Swedish defender hasn’t played much football in the past year, but against PAOK we got to see his best performance in a very long time – perhaps all the way back to his goal against Luton on November 11, 2023.

After the other worldly Amad, Lindelof was one of the very best on the field and it is clear why his performance was so highly rated.

It was a more than solid performance from Lindelof, as he showed his ultimate level at this stage of his career.

It was a display that will impress Amorim and give him ideas about potentially saving Lindelof’s United career.

Ruben Amorim will be impressed with Manchester United number 2

Against PAOK, Lindelof was the best we have seen him in a long time, which reminds many fans of the quality he possesses.

This performance got us thinking: maybe Lindelof has a future at Manchester United after all.

Amorim’s three-man defense means an extra centre-back is needed and his expert passing could find favor with Amorim.

Lindelof’s history in Portugal could also be beneficial for the Swede as he looks to regain an important role within the United squad.
