This crazy new Toyota Land Cruiser is ready for the apocalypse

Toyota’s own customization department just changed the new thing Land cruiser in a Cyberpunk fan’s dream vehicle.

Modellista has released an ultra-rugged take on the popular SUV called the Vision concept about land to this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The prototype comes with all the off-road equipment and upgrades you can imagine, making it the kind of futuristic-looking powerhouse you’d expect in a sci-fi thriller.

Toyota is considering bringing Japan-based Modellista to the United States, making the Overland Vision Concept a true showcase vehicle. The automaker, like all its peers, already sells aftermarket parts, but Modellista’s upgrades will give drivers the ability to customize their cars, SUVs and trucks like never before.

In the case of the Overland Vision Concept, this means taking what was already an impressive SUV and turning it into an off-roader that looks like it could have no problem with apocalyptic ruins. The concept involves one of the most aggressive applications of body armor we have ever seen. The bumper, grille, fenders, side panels and rear panel all have protective coverings. There’s also headlight protection, cargo boxes everywhere there is room for them (including above the rear windows) and a roof rack. Perhaps most striking of all is the car’s lighting package, which adds unmissable green LED accents to the front and rear.

The gear on display is mainly for the exterior, so no mention of powertrain details is made. The 2025 Land Cruiser comes with a turbocharged inline-four, assisted by two electric motors, producing 326 hp and 465 Nm of torque. The setup is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that distributes power to all four wheels. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 7.7 seconds, but more importantly, it can tow up to 6,000 pounds.

The Overland Vision Concept isn’t the only eye-catching Land Cruiser that will be on display at SEMA, which runs through Friday, November 8. Toyota also brought an open truck version of the SUV to the annual show, called the Calty Landcruiser ROX. It’s strictly a one-off at this point, but if Toyota ever decides to put the build into production, we imagine there will be plenty of interested buyers.
