Man charged in teen’s death in New Year’s crash

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a teenager was killed in a three-car crash on New Year’s Day.

The 18-year-old, from Cornwall, was a passenger in a black Toyota Aygo involved in the crash on the A35, near Kingston Russell, Dorset.

The crash, which occurred at 1.30pm GMT on January 1, also involved a silver Kia Sorento and a black BMW.

Joshua Craven, from Bridport, has also been charged with causing death by driving without due care and attention while over the specified limit for a controlled drug.

Dorset Police said the 22-year-old had received a request in the post to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on November 13.

Three other people were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening after the crash.
