Rusty’s First Warning Forecast – Increasing cloudiness before rain moves in this evening

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – There’s a bit of fog hanging in the air on a cold morning in the early 30s. Cloud cover is also increasing, so it doesn’t look like we’ll see much sun today. We will still warm into the mid-50s, but it won’t feel as good as it has the last few days.

These clouds will eventually lead to some rain in the area, most of which will continue until after 10pm this evening. A few light stray showers are possible before then, but overall I think most of us will stay dry until 10pm. That bodes well for area high school football games.

It’s looking increasingly like a soggy spot for many tonight, with showers and storms likely most of the night after 10pm. Widespread rain totals of 1/2″ appear likely, with some isolated totals up to 1″ possible.

The greatest chance of rain is certainly on Saturday morning, but there may be some persistent showers throughout Saturday afternoon. Clouds will be persistent and temperatures will also struggle to warm.

The southeast wind will also be noticeable. Wind gusts up to 55 km/h are fresh and can occasionally hit from the sides.

Sunday will easily be a better day with a high in the low 60s as we dry out.
