Albany Police: Man escapes custody, but is caught after about an hour

Albany police have arrested a Waterford man who escaped from police custody.

Caleb Dejong, 19, was charged with third-degree robbery when he escaped from his cell around 2:50 a.m. Friday morning. He was found and taken into custody around 4 a.m. near Delaware Avenue and Stanwix Street, Albany police said.

An internal investigation into the escape is underway.
