Shaderick Jones, 47, the fired deputy, was convicted of pornography involving juveniles, first-degree rape, first-degree criminal mischief, criminal mischief in office and obstruction of justice. He was also convicted of conspiracy to commit serious crimes against nature.

Each charge contains the following sentence:

  • From capital rape to first-degree rape: life in prison without possibility of probation, parole or suspension of sentence
  • Crimes in office – 5 years
  • Obstruction of justice – 20 years
  • Conspiracy to commit serious crimes against nature – 25 years

According to arrest records, in June 2019, Jones forced a woman, Iyehesa Todd, to perform oral sex on a one-year-old boy while he was armed and in uniform.

Todd said Jones also recorded the incident, but the video was not retrieved from his cell phone. Officials said they learned that Jones had disposed of his cell phone, which he was actively using, by throwing it into the river after a warning from Todd following her arrest.

After Jones’ arrest, several of his electronic devices were found in his home containing multiple electronic images of child pornography, officials said.

In 2022, he was convicted by a West Baton Rouge Parish jury of 24 counts of pornography involving juveniles and 55 counts of animal sexual abuse in another case. At the time, he was sentenced to more than 100 years for possession of pornography.

Todd pleaded guilty in 2024 to attempted first-degree rape, serious crimes against nature and pornography involving juveniles. The woman, Iyehesa Todd, is currently serving a fourteen-year prison sentence for her involvement.
