NJ man convicted of sexually abusing two minors over nearly 9 years

A 72-year-old man convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing two minor victims over nearly a decade was sentenced Thursday to 27 years in New Jersey prison, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said.

A jury found Henry Parker of Pennsauken guilty of several child sexual abuse charges in June. During his trial, his victims testified that he abused them at his home from October 2009 to January 2018, when they reported his misconduct to police.

Parker was convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault in the first degree; five counts of second-degree assault; four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child; five counts of aggravated criminal sexual contact in the third degree; and one count of soliciting or inciting a minor to engage in prostitution.

He was acquitted of three counts of child endangerment. Three additional counts in his indictment resulted in a hung jury.

Aggravated sexual assault in the first degree is applied to serious sex crimes and is a charge that can result in a life sentence and fines of up to $200,000.

The first 24 years of Parker’s total prison sentence are covered by New Jersey’s No Early Release Act, which prohibits suspects from being released until they have served at least 85% of their total prison sentence.
