Woman seriously injured in car-pedestrian crash on Peach Street in Millcreek

A 63-year-old Millcreek Township woman was seriously injured Thursday evening when she was struck by a car while crossing Peach Street in the township.

The accident was reported in the 5500 block of Peach Street on Thursday around 6:15 p.m.

According to Millcreek police, the woman, whose name was not released, was walking along Peach Street when she was struck by a Ford Taurus traveling south on Peach Street. The woman was taken by Millcreek Paramedic Service to UPMC Hamot, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit with serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Ford Taurus stopped after the crash and remained at the scene, police said.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements as part of the ongoing investigation into the crash. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call Cpl. Michael Sorokes at 814-833-7777.
