Delhi fire incident: Man killed, other injured in shooting in Welcome, police suspect enmity – Delhi News

One person was killed while another suffered a bullet wound after three men fired at them in North Delhi’s Welcome District, police said on Saturday.

According to the information, the accused bikers waited outside his house for a man named Nadeem and opened fire on him as soon as he came out on Friday evening.

Nadeem and another man named Shahnawaz were shot and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Nadeem succumbed to his injuries while Shahnawaz, who was shot in the leg, was out of danger, police said.

Another of Nadeem’s companions narrowly escaped the ambush. The three attackers fled on the victim’s scooter and also took his phone, leaving their bicycles behind, police said.

Police said they received information about the firing in Welcome’s Kabir Nagar and found three empty cartridges and a motorcycle on the roadside when they reached the crime scene.

Upon inquiry, the police were told that the motorcycle belonged to the suspect.

Meanwhile, the police control room received another call at 1.26 am from neighboring Jyoti Nagar area about the firing on a house by three men on a scooty.

The complainant told the police that the suspect came on a two-wheeler and shot at his house. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Six empty and one live cartridge were also found there.

The suspects were later captured from the same area, police added.

Police said the suspects were involved in a possible financial dispute of Rs 10,000 with the dead.

Two separate cases have been registered against the suspect and an investigation has been initiated, police said.
