Margaret Namenya, a 62-year-old woman who was thought to be dead, has returned home safe and sound.

The sixty-year-old returned to her home in perfect health after reportedly being dead for two weeks.

Namenya bought soda after coming back to life

Part of her family members had identified the elderly woman’s body at the Busia County mortuary after her death.

“I couldn’t catch a glimpse of her face in the state she was in at the mortuary. I told the attendant that if it was my mother, I would recognize her by her nails,” said a relative.

When family members heard of her miraculous return, they rushed home to confirm the good news.

“When she was found, I told my son to take a boda boda and pick her up,” said Namenya’s husband. When mom saw me, he screamed. We bought her a liter of soft drink, which she drank every last drop,” says Namenya’s son.

Funeral plans changed to a Thanksgiving ceremony in Busia

A funeral ceremony for Namenya was already being prepared, but residents were relieved that one of their own had returned.

Despite the fortunate turn of events from a funeral to a welcome party, the question was raised about the legal owners of the identified body.
