What a former Secret Service member says about Palm Beach security for Trump

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. – WPTV has reported what safety changes will take place in Palm Beach County following the election of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States.

Following the arrest of Zigie Li, a California man who Palm Beach police say entered Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home on Friday, WPTV wants to know what security measures law enforcement will take to protect Trump during his second term. as chairman.

Former Secret Service member Timothy Miller, who served during presidencies in the 1990s and 2000s, explained to WPTV why he thinks Trump is entering an even more dangerous environment than when we took office in 2016.

“We are dealing with state-sponsored assassination plots, and that is a sea change in the way the Secret Service protects all of our proteges,” Miller said.

This year, Trump has survived two assassination attempts, including one in Palm Beach County, and the Justice Department announced Friday it will charge three people in an Iranian assassination plot against the newly elected president.

According to Miller, the Secret Service will monitor social media, monitor known perpetrators and increase patrols when Trump leaves the White House.

Those visiting Palm Beach can expect an abundance of security in the future, like Richard Steele who visited from Houston, Texas this week.

“I expected safety, but this is a lot,” Steele said.

The Palm Beach Police Department, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the Secret Service will meet later this month to discuss any security measures that will need to be taken once he is installed in office.
