FEMA supervisor who allegedly advised workers to avoid homes with Trump signs fired: report

A Federal Emergency Management Agency supervisor who allegedly told employees not to help hurricane victims who had Trump signs hanging in front of their homes in Florida was reportedly fired.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell said the supervisor, named Marn’i Washington, had been fired. according to the New York Post.

“I want to be clear to all my employees and the American people that this type of behavior and action will not be tolerated at FEMA and that we will hold people accountable when they violate these standards of conduct,” the outlet said.

Earlier this week, a whistleblower filed a complaint with FEMA alleging that a Florida agency official instructed disaster responders to skip homes with pro-Donald Trump signs in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.

The employees were reportedly told in late October to skip homes of Trump supporters when canvassing in Lake Placid, Florida. The guidance would have been communicated both verbally and in group chat messages. according to The Daily Wirealthough the posts have since been deleted.

Based on the guidelines, at least 20 homes were reportedly missed and therefore did not have the opportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance.

Florida GOP Governor Ron DeSantis on Friday ordered an investigation into the incident.
