Amritsar police seize 2 kg of heroin and arrest 3 in cross-border drug trafficking case

In a major crackdown on cross-border drug trafficking, the CIA staff of the Amritsar Police Commissioner has seized 2 kg of heroin and arrested three persons. The names of the suspects have not been released due to ongoing investigations into their ties.

Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested persons were in touch with Pakistan-based drug traffickers, using social media apps to coordinate drone-delivered smuggling.

“Based on specific intelligence, CIA Staff-1 arrested the trio from Dana Mandi, near Bhagtawala, while they were traveling on a motorcycle, which was also seized. The suspects’ revelations led to the recovery of the contraband,” the CP said.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at the Division C police station here.
