WWE is off to a strangely slow start announcing matches for the Survivor Series: WarGames premium live event on November 30, with only one showdown officially scheduled so far.

A few creative directions suggest what some matches could be, including a big main event pitting a reunited faction against a faction that has dominated post-WrestleMania 40.

The Bloodline goes to battle in the most suitable Main Event

Solo Sikoa’s hostile takeover of The Bloodline after WrestleMania 40 and the implementation of new members Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and Jacob Fatu was opposed by the returning Roman Reigns at SummerSlam in August.

Since then, Reigns has battled the self-appointed new matriarch for control of the family, but has often been outmatched due to a distinct numerical disadvantage.

The return of Jimmy Uso and the reunions with Jey Uso and Sami Zayn have evened the odds and set up the main event of the upcoming spectacle, as the OG Bloodline battles Sikoa’s revamped incarnation within the unforgiving confines of WarGames.

There are a lot of stories at play, including the confidence (or lack thereof) in the babyface team and the possible return of Paul Heyman.

The match had been in the works for months and seemed tailor-made for WarGames. Everything has been steadily building to this moment when the original Bloodline reunited to thwart the challenge of an evil entity looking to take over the legacy of one of wrestling’s most legendary families and change it forever.

The overarching Bloodline saga is four years old and continues to write new chapters. It is epic because of its vastness and the number of artists and characters that have risen to stardom.

That is on full display in this anticipated match, with Zayn, Uso and the entire heel side rising to new levels of recognition through their involvement.

This would belong on a WrestleMania card, but luckily WWE fans won’t have to wait until mid-April to see what happens when the two sides finally settle their differences… or at least try to.

The continued rise of Damian Priest

Damian Priest cashed in his Men’s Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 40 to become World Heavyweight Champion.

During his run, he began to develop the confidence and presence needed to hold that position on the card… just in time to drop the title to Gunther at SummerSlam as part of his babyface turn and excommunication at The Judgment Day.

Since then, Priest has exorcised his past demons and refocused his attention on regaining a title he should never have lost. He became the #1 contender by defeating Dominik Mysterio, Sheamus and Seth Rollins in a Fatal 4-Way match to earn a shot at The Ring General.

Although the match has not yet been officially announced, Survivor Series is likely to be the home for The Archer of Infamy’s championship opportunity against Gunther.

Priest proved himself as a competitor in the ring in their previous meeting, pushing Gunther to his limits and countering his offensive onslaught with his own hard-hitting, fighting arsenal. The two styles meshed well together and if the match is allowed to unfold without the interference that plagued the first, it could be a hidden gem on what will likely be a strong Survivor Series card.

It’s yet another step in Priest’s development from the silent, bodyguard type as part of The Judgment Day to the charismatic, main event babyface we see today and one that benefits the company as a whole with the introduction of a new legitimate star.
