A South Carolina couple leads a high-speed chase over drugs and window tint, Coweta County deputies say

A South Carolina couple was arrested following a high-speed chase in Coweta County after officers said they had eight pounds of drugs in their SUV.

It all started when Coweta County deputies said they pulled over a driver for a window tint violation on I-85. They say they would later learn that there were reportedly four pounds of meth and four pounds of cocaine in the SUV.

Kinya Mishoe, 48, initially seemed to laugh about it.

“I know I wasn’t speeding,” he said, laughing.

“No, you were not speeding,” the officer responded.

‘I know I wasn’t speeding. I saw you. I saw you. I saw you,” Mishoe said, continuing to laugh.

While one officer checked his driver’s license, another officer was still standing behind the driver’s window talking, and things got serious. Video of the incident showed Mishoe driving away from the traffic stop at a high rate of speed.

“During the pursuit, the suspect began driving recklessly, nearly striking several cars and weaving through traffic,” said Cpl. said Chris Ricketson.

Debris from the road struck and shattered the deputy’s windshield. Still, the deputy was able to continue the pursuit with a few attempts of the PIT maneuver.

After the chase left the highway, the deputy drove into the SUV in an attempt to pin down the driver, who had already opened his door to apparently run away.

Officers said Mishoe still managed to flee the vehicle with a backpack. After a short foot chase they were able to apprehend him.

Inside the backpack, officers say they found four pounds of meth and four pounds of cocaine.

According to the officers, Mishoe is facing a variety of traffic fines and dealing in cocaine and meth. They said they charged his passenger, 40-year-old Laura Bell, with drug possession. Both are from South Carolina.
