San Francisco 49ers long snapper Taybor pepper found a fan in Good Morning Football host Kyle Brandt, who rewarded Pepper with his Week 10 game ball. Brandt praised Pepper for standing up for his kicker, Jake Moodyafter the second-year player struggled with three missed field goals before finally hitting the game winner against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It was Moody’s first game back after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 5. During Sunday’s game, Wide Receiver Deebo Samuel expressed his frustration with Moody, but Pepper stepped in to defend his teammate.

“Jake had a hard time there,” Pepper said after the game. “I was just standing there in front of Jake because there was still time on the clock, so the match wasn’t over yet and everyone knows what happened at the end.”

Brandt, who was excited to hand out the game ball, passionately cheered Pepper’s support, much to the delight of his co-hosts.

“You might think they have problems on special teams. Not him,’ Brandt stated Monday morning. “That’s him… stepping in for his kicker as the star wide receiver shoves him in the throat. And then Taybor Pepper walks up behind him, beeping him, as Deebo continues to walk away. All 6-4, 250 pounds of the long snapper, saying, ‘Don’t come over and talk to my kicker… We got us. Mind your business. We’ve got a young kicker having a really tough day, he needs you to go to him comes and chirps him.”

“I like Taybor Pepper. He’s a veteran in this league. He’s a Michigan man. He’s a family man. He’s a tough, true San Francisco 49er. … Specialists are constantly being attacked. They’re getting the ass Don’t joke with those specialists. They’ve had it this far. Taybor Pepper is finishing it!”

After the match, Samuel admitted his frustrations got the better of him as the team faced the prospect of another victory slipping from their grasp in dramatic fashion.

“Normally I don’t even get hit like that, but I’m just frustrated in the heat of the moment,” Samuel explained. “You know, it’s a very close game, and I got a little out of character. But I’ll talk to Moody, and we’ll get over it.”
