Raheem Morris gives a grim update on the injured Falcons

The Falcons saw several players go down with injuries during their Week 10 loss to the Saints.

Mike Hughes left the match with a neck injury. Replace with Clark PhillipsHughes’ presence was sorely missed. Fortunately, the veteran escaped without serious injury and is cleared to return to action.

Unfortunately, that’s where the good news stops. Raheem Morris gave some grim updates on three others Falcons.

Troy Andersen has re-aggravated the injury that kept him out for several months Ta’Quon Graham And James Smith Williams“The respective injuries were described on Monday as ‘not so good,’” Daniel Flick said.

Andersen finally returned from the same injury that occurred during his breakout performance against the Saints earlier this season. The second-round pick has struggled with injuries throughout his young career. This is a terrible development for someone Atlanta was counting on to be a major contributor.

The injuries to Smith-Williams and Graham don’t seem like a big deal at first glance, but they are when you dig a little deeper. In recent weeks, Jimmy Lake has been much more liberal with the defensive front rotation, with Graham and Smith-Williams taking on bigger roles, and this has yielded some positive results. Both will be missed at a position that is already struggling to make an impact.

What it could also do is pave the way for Brandon Dorlus, Atlanta’s rookie fourth-round pick, to finally make his regular-season debut. The Falcons 2024 draft class has yet to make a real impact Ruke Orhorhoro shortly after his debut he succumbed to an injury.

The Falcons already have a fast defense. Losing anyone will have a negative impact on Lake’s unity.
