McMaster comes to USC Aiken to discuss Helene’s recovery initiative

AIKEN, SC (WRDW/WAGT) – South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster will visit the University of South Carolina Aiken on Friday afternoon.

He is expected at the Student Activities Center sometime between 2 and 3 p.m., following the announcement of the Farm and Forest Recovery Resource Days initiative.

The event aims to support South Carolina’s agricultural and forestry communities affected by Hurricane Helene. It provides individuals with a single point of contact to find out more about the help and services available.

The total financial damage to South Carolina’s agricultural sector from Hurricane Helene, Tropical Storm Debby and this summer’s flash drought is estimated at $621 million, according to the governor’s office.
