Recovery center breaks ground for new women’s campus in western Ky.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – A recovery center broke ground for a new women’s campus on Monday, Nov. 11.

The new 45-acre women’s campus in McCracken County will be located near Barkley Regional Airport.

According to Lifeline Recovery Center, construction will begin immediately and is expected to be completed within 18 to 24 months.

They said this will increase their customer capacity by 40 percent.

The new campus is funded by “A Campaign for Recovery: Breaking the Cycle of Addiction, One Life at a Time,” which raised $11.6 million, or 89 percent of its $13 million goal.

The campaign started in 2023 and is expected to end in 2026.

The money from the campaign will go to separate campuses for women and men.

According to the recovery center, the women’s campus will include a new chapel, housing, restaurants, educational, counseling and administrative space.

The 45-acre Ballard County men’s campus, acquired two years ago, was already equipped with those buildings when it was purchased.

The women’s campus is currently located on Morgan Lane.

When the men’s campus moved from there to Ballard County in 2022, the women’s campus moved from Bloom Avenue to Morgan Lane.

When the women’s program moves to the new campus, Lifeline will determine the content of the facilities on Morgan Lane, with options ranging from sober living space for men to outpatient facilities.
