Supply assistant arrested in Chhattisgarh for allegedly raping widow, with videos circulating

BALANGIR: A supply assistant of Budula panchayat within Agalpur police limits was arrested from Chhattisgarh for allegedly raping a widow on Monday.

According to reports, the suspect, Girishchandra Sahu, had been on the run since the victim filed a complaint against him on November 4.

According to the victim, Sahu lured her on the pretext of giving her rice under PDS but raped her repeatedly. He also allegedly recorded videos of the act without her consent.

The matter came to light when the victim confronted Sahu at the panchayat office and attacked him with her slipper. The video of the victim attacking Sahu in his office has gone viral on social media.

Balangir Sadar SDPO PK Sahu told the media that the district police had arrested Sahu from his relative’s house in coastal Chhattisgarh. He is accused of rape and spreading offensive videos on social media. The probe is turned on.
