Jordan Derkack’s relentless efforts fulfill Rutgers’ search for the intangibles

Jordan Derkack might be one of those people Rutgers basketball players that no one can really describe what he does because he does things that don’t appear in the box score. At least that’s the reputation he’s built in his first two games.

To be clear, the junior guard, a transfer from Merrimack College this season, isn’t a glue guy yet, but he certainly proves to be a core piece that coach Steve Pikiell needs to complete his lineup. On a team led by high-impact freshmen, score-from-anywhere scorers and specific role players, it’s the guy who does a little bit of everything and makes a big first impression.
