Man dead after hit-and-run in Glen Burnie: police

GLEN BURNIE, Md. – Police in Anne Arundel County believe the death of a man Sunday in Glen Burnie was caused by a hit-and-run.

On Sunday around 9:35 p.m., a driver struck 35-year-old Edward Broseker Jr. in the area of southbound Governor Ritchie Highway and the eastbound on-ramp to the Beltway.

The Anne Arundel Fire Department pronounced Broseker dead not long after the vehicle struck him, police said.

As investigators try to piece together the details of Broseker’s death, they told WMAR there are no known witnesses.

“Certainly, that makes it difficult in the early stages,” said Justin Mulcahy, a police spokesman, “when you don’t have any physical evidence or visual or audio evidence or potential witnesses around. So those are certainly things we’re going to look at from an investigative standpoint. Any environmental factors, any potential physical evidence….”

Police currently have no suspect in custody.

Pedestrians tell WMAR they find it difficult to get around on foot in that area.

“It’s dangerous to walk this way, especially at night. It’s dark here. The way the cars drive and stuff like that is dangerous,” Darin Streams noted.

Anne Arundel County Police are asking the public for any details that may help them. Call 410-222-8573 to get in touch.
