Human remains found in burned vehicle on Cape Cod, DA says

Authorities are investigating after human remains were found in a burned-out car in Sandwich on Monday.

First responders were called to Quaker Meeting House Road in the morning hours after a burned-out vehicle was discovered, the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s office said in a statement. Human remains were found in the car.

“After a preliminary investigation, the district attorney would like to reassure the public that there is no threat to public safety,” the district attorney’s office said in a statement.

The investigation into the car fire and the presence of human remains is ongoing, according to the public prosecutor.
