Skull Games’ Jeff Tiegs on leveraging military skills, OSINT in support of law enforcement

Jeff Tiegschairman and founder of Skull gamesdiscussed how open source intelligenceor OSINT, and the intelligence skills of military veterans can help law enforcement agencies address the problem of commercial sex trafficking.

In an article published on Carahsoft.comTiegs cited how a nonprofit like Skull Games uses OSINT to help “identify trafficked women and children and identify their exploiters.”

“We are compiling all that information and sending it to our law enforcement partners for action,” he added.

The company president explained how Skull Games’ Survivor-Hunter program supports women who have survived sex trafficking.

“We teach them about OSINT, and they use their industry insider knowledge to hunt with us, which gives them a sense of empowerment and healing,” he noted.

Tiegs noted that his organization uses the analytical expertise of military veterans to help break the code used by sex traffickers.

“Once we know the acronyms and the emojis and the way they speak, we can unravel who is doing what, why, when and where, and we can share all that information with police,” he added.
