Pennsylvania Turnpike traffic: Multiple tractor-trailers involved in crash on I-276 in Bensalem Township, Bucks County

BENSALEM TWP., Pa. (WPVI) — The westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike is closed at Interstate 95 South after multiple tractor-trailers were involved in a crash.

It happened Tuesday morning on Interstate 276 at Milepost 351.5WB near Lincoln Highway in Bensalem Township, Bucks County.

Chopper 6 was above the scene on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, where a tractor-trailer appears to have crashed into the back of a box truck.

A semi-car also crashed into the median.

Another tractor-trailer with a blade can also be seen on the highway, blocking the roadway.

It appears that no traffic can pass in the westbound lanes.

Detour

The PA Turnpike WB is closed between I-95 SB (exit 40) and Bensalem Interchange (exit 351). According to PA Turnpike officials, the closures will remain in effect until the roadway is cleared.

Drivers will be detoured via I-95 SB for approximately 5.3 miles to PA 63 West/Woodhaven Rd (Exit 35). From Woodhaven, take US 1 North toward Morrisville to Roosevelt Blvd, where motorists can rejoin the PA Turnpike at the Bensalem Interchange (exit 351).

There is no word yet on any injuries or how long the road is expected to be closed.
