Pro-Palestinian protesters block Parliament Square as Britain falls silent on Armistice Day

Pro-Palestine demonstrators blocked London‘s Parliament Square during a two minutes of silence marking Armistice on Monday, November 11.

Protesters sat on the road in Westminster with banners reading ‘Stop arming Israel‘ and ‘Never again for anyone’.

The silence at 11am coincides with the moment in 1918 when the First World War came to an end.

The Metropolitan Police said: “A small group of protesters walked onto Bridge Street in Westminster and sat in the middle of the road.

“The demonstrators dispersed about two minutes later before police arrived. This event caused minimal disruption to traffic in the area and had no impact on Armistice Day commemorations in Whitehall.”

No arrests were made.

Youth Question said:The world said ‘never again’ that we would allow such atrocities to happen, and yet it is happening again to the people of Gaza.”
