Car rolls over and catches driver in Harlem Irving Plaza shopping center in Chicago

NORRIDGE, Ill. (TNND) — Authorities say a driver was injured when the person drove through a guardrail in the parking lot of an Illinois shopping center and flipped the car.

The Norridge Police Station shared a photo of the crash, with the image showing the sedan resting on its roof in the middle of a street as first responders work on the scene.

Police said it happened just before 12:30 Monday afternoon at the Harlem Irving Plaza Mall.

“Officers located a vehicle that had rolled over and the driver was trapped inside the vehicle,” police said in a social media post.

Police said members of the Norwood Park Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated the driver from the car.

The driver was then taken to Lutheran General Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
