Bomb threat to election staff causes Chisago County Gov. Center opens too late

The Chisago County Government Center opened an hour and a half late Tuesday after a bomb threat was sent to election staff, county administrator Chase Burnham said.

The threat was sent via email and was deemed not credible by the state, Burnham added. The building was searched and evacuated.

The same threat was sent to 22 different counties in the state and appears to have been sent from abroad.

Burnham added that authorities are working with state and federal governments to trace the email and determine its origin.
