Ohio State Highway Patrol investigates fatal crash in Brown County

RUSSELLVILLE, Ohio (WXIX) – The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash in Russellville that left one man dead, troopers say.

On Nov. 12 at 10:15 a.m., 42-year-old Seth Jones of Ripley, Ohio, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Spark south on US 62 when he swerved to avoid a United States Postal Service car, according to the press release from OSHP.

At mile marker 19, Jones’ car was traveling left of center and was struck head-on by a northbound semi-truck, OSHP said.

Jones was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and died at the scene from his injuries, the statement said. The driver of the semi was not injured.
