Fake cop gets caught pretending to be a cop in front of a real cop

Imitate an agent is a big no no. A man in Florida found this out the hard way after he flashed the fake police lights in his unmarked Dodge Charger to turn on a light at an intersection.

On October 15, Frank Michael DeJiulio Jr. in a black Dodge Charger as he approached the intersection of a light that had turned red, reports Carscopes. DeJiulio continued with what I’m sure we’ve all seen cops do when they don’t want to wait for the lights to come on: he activated his lights to say, “Hey, watch out, I’m about to do this.” light,” which he then did.

The problem is, DeJiulio wasn’t a cop, but between his charger and light bar, he seemed to fool others into thinking he was one.

Unknowingly, DeJiulio pulled up directly behind a real cop, Detective William Harsanyi of the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. Harsanyi witnessed it all and proceeded to stop DeJiulio.

DeJiulio initially denied everything because of course he did:

Unsurprisingly, Harsanyi radioed in to initiate a traffic stop on the Charger. According to the report, the driver, Frank Michael DeJiulio, Jr., initially denied having red and blue lights. Of course, Harsanyi stepped in to refute that. At that point, Dejiulio Jr. reportedly admitted to his crime at that time.

Carscoops says DeJiulio is now facing charges including “prohibited use of lighting and false impersonation.” This is in addition to a red light ticket. The real kicker here is the Charger. It was towed away by authorities and is believed to belong to DeJiulio’s girlfriend. His bond was set at $6,000. Oddly enough, despite the false impersonation charge, Hernando County sheriffs say they actually have no evidence that DeJiulio impersonated a police officer in other instances, such as in interactions with the public, which is a bit of a relief.
