Ithaca police identify murder suspect

ITHACA (WBNG) – Ithaca police identified a suspect in a murder investigation Tuesday.

Police have identified the suspect as Ahmed Abed, 43 years old. He is charged with second-degree murder.

On Nov. 11, Ithaca police said they were investigating a homicide on Plain Street.

Officers initially arrived at the scene around 5:30 a.m. to investigate the death. At the time, police said there was an incident not a random act.

Police said that in regards to the survivors and because the investigation is ongoing, they will not release any more information about the case as of Tuesday afternoon.

Abed was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
