Person found shot in crashed vehicle near Family Dollar in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Birmingham police are investigating after a person was shot Tuesday evening.

North Precinct officers responded to the 3100 block of 26th Street North around 7:10 p.m., where they discovered a single-vehicle crash. Officers found a person in the car with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment. Police say they are not aware of their current condition.

Officers believe the victim was shot in the 3400 block of 26th Street North. The victim then drove several blocks before crashing near the Family Dollar in the 3100 block.
