On November 6, Trump was elected US president for a second term in one of the biggest political comebacks in US history, four years after a 2020 election loss that led to a violent insurrection at the US Capitol.

The 78-year-old Republican leader defeated his Democratic rival Kamala Harris in a bitterly fought election.

“We predicted this. We saw it in the ground movement. There was a silent majority. This was the result of America’s lost foreign policy, domestic inflation, spiraling crime, spiraling illegal immigration. , poor infrastructure and the Biden-Harris administration focusing on social issues that were not relevant to the masses,” Jasdip Singh Jassee, founder of Sikhs for Trump, told PTI.

“So we’ve seen that anger and the disappointment of the masses in the Biden-Harris administration over the last four years. President Trump won in a very decisive historic victory, winning not only the Electoral College, but also the popular vote. He has flipped many deep blue counties, like California. There are eight counties that have flipped,” he said.

Under Trump’s leadership, the Republican Party has gained a majority in the House of Representatives and the Senate, he said.

Referring to the 12 odd senior government positions announced by Trump in the very first week after winning the presidential election, Singh said the new Trump administration is being shaped very thoughtfully.

“We see a big difference in the way he chose his cabinet in 2016 and how he chooses them now. He has much more experience; he has seen how this works and the people he brings into his cabinet are great. The choices he had for border czar, for United Nations ambassador, even for secretary of state and recently appointed Governor Huckabee as ambassador to Israel, which is a very important position for the US. I think all these choices were made very, very carefully and are excellent choices,” he said.

“I think it will be a very successful second term. I think the Republicans will do that, even after the four years of President Trump. I’m pretty sure the Republicans will come back and the country will be brought to the center. It is dangerously left-wing, which is not good for any society, neither for the left nor for the extreme right. The center is always good. I think the country will slowly move towards the center under President Trump’s administration,” Singh said.

Singh said India-US relations will be very strong under President Trump.

“Probably the strongest of the two nations I’ve ever seen. If you look at these Cabinet choices, they are heavily pro-India, as if the head of the India Caucus has been given one of the positions,” he said.

“His policy will be America first. But I think he sees India as a very valuable partner. He has a personal relationship with Prime Minister Modi, a very positive one. Both leaders have mutual respect, understanding and affection for each other,” Singh said.
