The Barre City Council votes unanimously in favor of a new flood resilience plan

BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – Flood resilience was on the agenda at the Barre City Council meeting Tuesday night.

Councilors have developed a plan to modernize the city’s current housing to make it flood-resistant and ensure new housing projects also meet those standards.

The plan also outlined ways to centralize information to make their progress accessible and trackable.

The council will have a six-month review of that progress in May and say they are considering including flood resilience funds in the city budget. The plan was adopted unanimously.
