Home health care worker accused of identity theft of 94-year-old patient

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WFSB) – A home caregiver in Windsor Locks has been arrested for identity theft.

Police say they received a complaint in April about possible identity theft involving a 94-year-old Windsor Locks resident.

After a months-long investigation, the victim’s home caregiver, identified as Michelle Labowski of Granby, was arrested and charged with identity theft.

Police say Labowski obtained the victim’s personal identification information and opened a Chase Amazon Prime Visa credit card.

Over three months, Labowski spent $9,100 charged to the victim’s account.

Labowski turned himself in to the police yesterday. She was later released after posting $25,000 bail.

She will appear in Hartford Superior Court later this month.
