Man arrested on WSU campus, charged with rape

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Wichita State University police arrested a man on campus Monday on charges of rape. According to online booking forms from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Mohamed Ma was arrested and booked on charges including rape and aggravated criminal sodomy.

12 News reached out to Wichita State to find out if Ma was a student or employee of the university and to gather more details about the incident.

WSU Director of the Office of Strategic Communication Lainie Mazzullo-Hart said the university cannot comment on ongoing investigations and that there is no threat to the WSU community.

“…the safety of our students, staff and faculty is always a top priority of the university,” said Mazzullo-Hart. “We understand that any report of possible sexual abuse can be disturbing and difficult to process. There are many resources for the campus community.”
