Caitlin Clark sent a clear message about her biggest motivation during the LPGA golf event

It’s safe to say that Indiana Fever sensation Caitlin Clark is self-motivated.

This is evident from her achievements on the basketball court from Iowa to the WNBA. But it was made even clearer by comments Clark made before competing in a much-hyped LPGA pro-am.

Clark took part in one LPGA Women’s Leadership Summit She will tee off Tuesday as part of Annika Sorenstam’s “The Annika” pro-am Wednesday. During her performance, the standout Hooper, and now expected golferwas very clear with her answer.

“My biggest motivator? Oh man. I think I want to be the best. I don’t want anyone to be better than me. Whatever it is, I just want to be better than everyone else,” Clark said.

The comments may not be unexpected, as her competitive nature has become apparent over the years to anyone who has seen her take the floor. She even revealed that that spirit dated back to high school, with her dedication to getting better at basketball which angered some of her then-soccer teammates.

However, that motivation to be the best doesn’t mean Clark isn’t self-aware. She added that she looks in the mirror when she knows she hasn’t done her best and quickly assesses and works on the areas she knows need improvement.

And Clark clearly doesn’t have as much confidence on the course as he does on the field. She joked that her goal is not to hit anyone with an errant golf ball when she actually participates in the expected event.

Although she may not feel completely comfortable with her driver, it is that inner drive that sets her apart. That’s why Clark was able to make history as a WNBA rookie and why Fever foes should be concerned when next season starts.
