Actor Shaun Chen reveals that he has already met Zhang Yaodong’s two daughters

Last weekend, Mediacorp actor Zhang Yaodong shocked everyone he revealed that he has two daughters.

The announcement came four months after the 46-year-old actor was accused of being a serial cheater. There were also allegations that he fathered two children with a longtime girlfriend.

It turns out that Yaodong’s revelation wasn’t exactly a surprise to his friends like Shaun Chen, 46.

“He has told us before and as a friend we can only support him,” Shaun said in a recent interview with Chinese media Lianhe Zaobao.

According to Shaun, he didn’t want to interfere with how Yaodong handled his personal affairs, so all he could do was “keep the secret from him”.

Shaun also said that he met Yaodong’s daughters many years ago, and that they “look a lot like their father.”

Now that the cat is out of the bag, Shaun, who has two daughters – Nellie, eight, and Neia, seven – with wife Celine Chin, 34, is very happy for his friend.

“All these years he couldn’t say (that he has children), but now he can finally open up about it. I can see that he also gets along very well with his daughters,” Shaun said, adding that Yaodong and the mother of his daughters have “found a comfortable way to deal with the problem so that the children are not affected by it”.

It is unknown if Yaodong and his partner are still together.

Shaun urged the crowd to give Yaodong “more space”.

“As a friend, I just hope he can accept reality and take good care of his children,” he said.

“I hope he can move forward. After all, he still has to work,” he added.

As for why his friend decided to open up about his personal life, Shaun said that he and Yaodong have been busy and haven’t seen each other for a long time, so he can’t speak for him.
