Wild boar crashes into motorcycle in Hong Kong, injuring rider and passenger

A wild boar crashed into a motorcycle on a Hong Kong road on Wednesday, injuring the rider and his passenger.

The motorcycle, driven by a 39-year-old man, was traveling along the Kowloon-bound lane of Clear Water Bay Road in Sai Kung when the incident occurred shortly after 3am.

While driving near Tai Au Mun village, “the wild pig rushed onto the road and collided with the motorcycle,” a police spokesman said.

The vehicle fell on one side, injuring the motorcyclist and his 34-year-old female passenger.

According to police, the man suffered scratches on both hands and shoulders, while the woman injured her knees.

The pair were taken to Tseung Kwan O Hospital for treatment.

According to the spokesperson, the wild boar disappeared before emergency services arrived.
