Chennai doctor stabbed multiple times by patient’s son

A doctor at a government hospital in Chennai was stabbed multiple times with a knife on Wednesday (November 13). The son of a patient allegedly stabbed the doctor because of complaints about the treatment of his mother in the same institution.

Police have arrested the suspect in the incident.

The doctor was treated for his wounds and he is stable. The doctor, an oncologist, is also a heart patient. Health Minister Ma Subramanian told media that the doctor had suffered injuries to his chest and head.

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also visited the hospital. Meanwhile, doctors at Kalaignar Centenary Multy government special hospital protested against the incident.
