Miranda Cosgrove teases new iCarly project after Reboot’s cancellation

Miranda Cosgrove teases a new one iCarly project currently in progress.

The actress, who played the role of Carly Shay on the hit Nickelodeon show that initially ran from 2007 to 2012, later reprized her character for the revival, which aired from 2021 to 2023. However, the reboot was canceled after three seasons.

During a recent appearance on The conversationCosgrove shared, “I’m not allowed to confirm anything 100 percent yet, but I think fans of the show are going to be super excited because we have something in the works.”

While the Mother of the bride star would not confirm what kind of project, the idea of a movie was tossed around between hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Sheryl Underwood and Natalie Morales. The latter also asked Cosgrove if the upcoming project meant “bringing back old favorites” from the cast.

“Yes, and we basically ended the revival on a cliffhanger, and we’re going to wrap that up,” the actress responded.

Next to Cosgrove, the iCarly reboot saw Nathan Kress (Freddie Benson) and Jerry Trainor (Spencer Shay) reprise their roles. The series continued Carly’s storyline ten years later and followed a group of best friends as they created a webcast while grappling with everyday problems and adult adventures. It also starred Laci Mosley and Jaidyn Triplett.

When Biggest+ announced last year that the revival would not return for a fourth season, a spokesperson for the streamer wrote in a statement at the time: “iCarly will not return for a fourth season on Paramount+. The series had three great seasons and delivered what fans really wanted to see as Carly and Freddie finally got together. We would like to thank the entire cast, the writers, directors and producers and the entire crew for their dedication, creativity and talent.”
