Man on bail arrested in 2022 for murder in Mobile apartment complex shooting

The mobile police have arrested a man for allegedly killed a man at an apartment complex in Mobile on Monday.

Nyyon Sanders was arrested by Mobile Police on Wednesday for the alleged murder of Joseph Evans Jr. at Dauphin Gate Apartments.

Sanders had been given a $200,000 bond for allegedly committing murder in another case while he was a minor in 2022. The details of that killing were not immediately known.

According to court documents, Sanders’ bond was revoked Tuesday prior to his arrest because he is suspected of killing Evans.

Sanders also violated his bond by allowing his ankle monitor to die and allegedly being on Dauphin Street, where he was not supposed to be, according to court records.

Another person was also shot and went to a hospital Monday, but their injuries were not life-threatening.

MPD has not released a possible motive and is still investigating whether Sanders shot both victims.
