Elko woman arrested for allegedly stabbing a man walking his dog

ELKO, Nev. (KOLO) – An Elko woman has been arrested after police say she stabbed a man who was walking his dog.

Shelly Carabello, 59, was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted murder.

Elko Police Department officers were called to the 600 block of Cedar Street, where Carabello allegedly attacked the man after accusing him of raping her for years.

Elko police say Carabello is known to their department, and it is believed she was suffering from a mental health disorder before the alleged stabbing occurred.
